The way forward of a corporation is determined by the strategic issues in place as well as the analysis of its culture, strengths, mission and weaknesses (Fahey et al.1986). Strategic management defines the modalities in place that create a favorable future and aid a corporation to grow. Strategic management can only be achieved by working and communicating together with all the stakeholders rather than the written policies on paper. The strategic management polices however, does not replace the conventional management activities such as monitoring, planning, controlling, reporting and budgeting (Aguilar, 1967). Strategic management policies create plans that are attuned to the assumptions of the future as well as using the same plans to develop a blueprint of the daily chores. The CEO of an organization should be able to handle the uncertain contemporary issues as well as turning them towards the advantage of the company. Managers should also be at the forefront in adjusting the modus operandi, organizational structure as well as the competitive strategy according to the demands in the market (Wilson, 1994).The context issue of Able Corporation is aimed at establishing the strategic management objectives that must be achieved by the company. Currently the company is experiencing a down fall in investments as well as income. This raises the need for a turn around strategy that will reinvent the corporation back to the profit making ways. The down fall is being evidenced by the lack of investments for several years leading to stocking of outdated and stale products. The operations of the company have also been established to be inefficient and very costly. As a matter of urgency, the company has been experiencing net operating losses for the last 2-4 years. The cradle of the corporation I also held by a person who has blood relations with the previous. The bringing of family matters into a business may lead to the challenge of efficient restructuring since the non-performing staff can not be laid off. The corporation's products are also not competitively vibrant in the market. The obsolete manufacturing plants have led to the products having high production costs in high labor cost and the unionized areas.The top two strategic objectives that can be employed to help restructure Able Corporation to retain its former glory have been discussed below. One of the strategies is developing mechanisms that will capture the entire share of the consumer channels, the two segments of power tools as well as the cordless products. This strategy is attainable since Able has had success and reputation in its cordless business segment. This strategy ha however faced challenges since the competitors have adopted the same method to market their products. Therefore measures of ensuring that the strategy is free from external copying will prove vital in the restructuring process. The reason behind adopting this strategy is because it targets the customer attitude. The first step towards achieving better business practice is attracting a good customer base and retaining of the consumer channels.The second strategic objective that can be adopted is the one targeting the reduction of fears of top position personnel turn over. A company that is restructuring can not afford losing the core staff within its perimeters. The whole process of hiring new employees will call for extra costs as well as training time for the newcomers. Therefore Able Corporation should develop methods that will help it to retain its current crop of employees. This can be achieved by developing cordial relationship between the top brass of the corporation following the hierarchal order to the lowest ranked employee. The only point that might be considered, is the position mandated with the role of oversight. If the individuals in these positions fail to perform, then it is a requirement o recruit individuals who are more concerned on reinventing the corporation entirely. This can only be realized by ensuring that the friction existing between the executive and the employees is no more. The employees must also be given better motivational packages.
